Overview
Departing early from Nairobi, this full day safari takes you down the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park. Known globally as a bird watcher paradise, the lake shores are often painted pink by thousands of flamingos. The park is also a premium sanctuary for both black and white rhinoceros, making it one of the best places in Kenya to spot these magnificent endangered creatures. You will also have the chance to see tree climbing lions, Rothschild giraffes, and waterbucks.
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1
Great Rift Valley and Lake Nakuru Game Drive
Your driver will collect you early in the morning for a scenic drive down the Great Rift Valley. Upon entering Lake Nakuru National Park, you will immediately begin your game drive along the lake shores, searching for flocks of flamingos, pelicans, and cormorants. You will explore the acacia woodlands to spot white rhinos and the elusive leopard. After a packed lunch at a scenic viewpoint like Baboon Cliff, you will have a final afternoon game drive before returning to Nairobi in the evening.
