Shela Village House

Shela Village House is a traditional Swahili house converted into a boutique guesthouse in Shela Village, the quieter and more upmarket residential village at the southern end of Lamu Island. The property retains its authentic coral stone construction, carved wooden doors, and internal courtyard typical of Lamu architecture. Rooms are simply but elegantly furnished using locally made furniture. A rooftop terrace provides views over the village, ocean, and famous Shela sand dunes. The 12-kilometre Shela Beach begins immediately outside the guesthouse entrance.
