Treetops Lodge

Treetops Lodge

★★★ Mid-Range Aberdares National Park

About This Lodge

Treetops Lodge holds a unique place in history as the location where Princess Elizabeth stayed when she received news of her father King George VI's death in February 1952, becoming Queen Elizabeth II. The original structure was burned and rebuilt in 1969, but the current lodge retains the treehouse concept overlooking a waterhole within Aberdare National Park. Overnight guests arrive in the afternoon, board the lodge, and spend the night observing wildlife at the floodlit waterhole from multiple observation decks and a rooftop platform.
