The Ark Lodge

The Ark is one of Kenya's most famous and unusual safari lodges, designed to resemble Noah's Ark in its distinctive elongated shape, set on stilts above the Aberdare forest floor and overlooking a waterhole, salt lick, and small pool. Guests board The Ark in the afternoon and are called throughout the night by buzzer as different animals arrive at the waterhole. Species regularly seen include elephant, buffalo, giant forest hog, black rhino, hyena, bushbuck, and if lucky, the rare bongo antelope.
