Satao Camp

Satao Camp in Tsavo East National Park is one of the most celebrated elephant camps in Kenya, named after the legendary giant-tusked elephant Satao who roamed the area for decades. The camp overlooks a waterhole and salt lick that attract extraordinary concentrations of Tsavo's famous red elephants, particularly at dusk when herds of hundreds gather. Twenty luxury en-suite tents are arranged along the riverbank. The camp's central waterhole viewing platform and underground hide provide exceptional wildlife photography opportunities.
